Loose produce is a store packed with healthy foods. They have a wide array of loose produce (strangely enough) such as nuts, seeds, and grains in bins and you can purchase as much as you want. I buy my biodynamic wheat there is large 25kg bags for my sprouted sourdough bread. They also have a good range of vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and wheat free foods. The store has a little coffee shop so you can meet friends and chat and they also have regular yoga classes in store. A little gem in the Como area.
I love Manning Farmers Market!! It’s a Saturday morning family ritual. We go, we eat breakfast (always healthy), we have a yummy fresh smoothie, we buy our fruit and veg for the week, we buy our delicious honey and stock up on any grass fed, organic meats or eggs. A beautiful, friendly, outdoor environment and a lot less stressful than the local supermarkets!
I am in love with Strange grains bread!! At last – gluten free bread that actually tastes like bread and is not packed with nutrient depleted, refined grains. My favourite is the buckwheat sourdough. I buy it frozen from Loose Produce (see resources), but there is a list of stockists around Perth. You can also buy it fresh at their bakery door in Leederville. Highly recommended for a gluten free option.
I recently found this amazing little shop in Vic Park, and I nearly bought the whole shop. Everything you need to get harmful toxins and chemicals out of your home and garden. I bought reusable straws, soap nuts, reusable covers for jars (no more cling film), a whole composting system for my kitchen and carbon to filter my water. They have a great range of products and the owner is very knowledgable. It’s the way of the future!
